A
special word of welcome to all our new Grade One learners and parents, as well
as any other new learners and their parents, we hope you feel part of the special
Brackenhurst Primary School family from day one. Welcome back to all our existing families, we
trust you had a wonderful holiday and are ready to face the challenges that
2010 hold.

GRADE 1 INFORMATION
MORNING
Grade
1 Information Morning will be held on Saturday, 16 January 2010 at 09:00.
Please
make every effort to attend.
EXTRA-CURRICULAR MATTERS
Athletics:
Athletics
training will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays, 14:00 15:30.
All
athletes are welcome.
Athletics
run-offs will commence next week during school for the Grade 1 and 2
learners. Please note the following:
If your child was born on one
of these days of any month, he/she will be in the following house:
1 9 Mars
(Red)
10 20 Jupiter (Yellow)
21 31 Venus (Blue)
Inter-House
Athletics:
This
is scheduled to take place on Friday, 22 January 2010 (weather
permitting). Alternate day is 26 January
2010. All runners participating at this
event will be issued with a letter once all the run offs have been
completed. Parents are welcome to attend
this event. Further information will be
given at a later date.
Physical
Education Uniform:
The
Physical Education Uniform is on sale before school, outside the hall, on
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 07:30 08:00.
Please note that this kit is compulsory for all learners for P.E.
classes. They may come to school dressed
in their P.E. kit on the days they have P.E. at school. Only the CORRECT P.E. kit may be worn to
school.
Athletics
Uniform:
The
athletics kit will also be sold outside the hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays from
07:30 08:00. This is only needed by
the learners who qualify to run as part of the school team.

Lockers:
Please
note that lockers are not transferable. Deposits
for lockers used last year, should have been collected at the end of the
year. Please contact Mrs Heide in the
school office if you have not collected your deposit from last year. Any deposits not collected by the end of
January will be forfeited.
No
learner may use their locker from last year.
Lockers will only be available for use from February. Please check the newsletters for further
details.
Second
Hand Clothing Shop:
The
Second Hand Clothing Shop will be open at the following times:

Venue: C14
Excellent
quality school uniforms are available at good prices.
Lost
Property:
Please
ensure that your childs uniform is clearly marked with their name and
surname. Unmarked school uniform items
will be recycled into the Second Hand Clothing Shop after two weeks. Lost property can be found under the
stairwell outside Room C14.
Going
Green
Tip
for the week: Recycle all your paper
waste and send it to our Ronnie Recycle Bin.
Animal
Food:
We
are appealing to Gr 7B to please bring the following items to the lab. next
week:
Wild bird seed; budgie seed;
mixed bird seed; hamster food and
bedding; rabbit food; carrot tops and lettuce.
