CONDOLENCES

Our sincere condolences to Mrs Lesley van Kerkhof and her family on the passing of her father-in-law on Wednesday.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

COLLECTION OF LEARNERS AFTER SCHOOL

The majority of parents display a great deal of responsibility and collect, or make arrangements to collect, their children by 13:45 when the Intersen learners conclude their lessons for the day.  However, there are others who are quite happy to let their children hang around the school for three and four hours after school closes before they are collected. Some even have the audacity to expect the security guard to take care of their children until 17:30. Please note that the school is out of bounds to any children who are not participating in extra murals and that the “thatch” or pavilion is not to be used as an aftercare centre.
Parents are expected to collect their children when their activities are completed. Please make arrangements for your children to vacate the premises after school. Learners loitering around with nothing to do for hours on end but get up to mischief while they wait for parents to collect them will no longer be tolerated.

GRADE 1 – 3 BOOK BAGS

We would like to appeal to all Grade 1 – 3 parents to purchase an A4 size book bag at a cost of R30,00, available from the school.  This bag will be able to hold and protect the school readers as well as the media books from leaking juice bottles etc.  The bag has a zip and two handles for easy carrying.

We have to spend thousands of rands every year to replace damaged books and we feel that these bags will help to reduce costs.

You may send the money in an envelope with the child’s name and grade to the register teacher.

MEDIA FINES

Please note that the fine for overdue Media Books is 50c per day.  If your child has lost (or damaged) a media book the cost is R100,00 to replace an old book and R150,00 to replace a new book.
